Last night, I got an email from Qatar Airways, with a boarding pass for a flight today. I’m not jetting off anywhere, so it was a bit confusing… Checked the email headers, definitely from Qatar Airways. Checked the IP address it came from. Qatar. Looked at the boarding pass. Looks real enough. Hm.

I just got off the phone with Qatar Airways, where the conversation went something like this:

Me: (short explanation of the situation)

Qatar: Do you have a booking reference?

Me: Yes, it’s ******

Qatar: Is that Gareth Bowker?

Me: Yes…

Qatar: Married to a Mandy Bowker?

Me: No…

So, Gareth and Mandy Bowker, travelling to Doha tonight, have a great flight… and I’ve got your boarding pass.

UK Visibility Chart

UK Visibility Chart

Extract colors from photos and make color schemes | ColorSuckr

Extract colors from photos and make color schemes | ColorSuckr

NATS AFPEx Training

NATS AFPEx Training

GFS Forecast Model Animation

GFS Forecast Model Animation

Showing The Oblomovs The Door

Showing The Oblomovs The Door:
“The CEO who lets the Security organization become the compliance department has abdicated to the government and Payment Card Industry his responsibility to understand and manage organizational risk….

OS OpenSpace from Ordnance Survey

OS OpenSpace from Ordnance Survey:
Non-commercial maps API for the UK.

Iran: Neda (warning: graphic video) - Boing Boing

Iran: Neda (warning: graphic video) - Boing Boing:
Absolutely horrific video from Tehran.

What’s interesting - to me, at least - is that after I’ve heard the high-pitched sound for a short while (like in the sound clip in the link above), it remains for a while, just like tinnitus. Playing the sound again and it seems louder the second time. It’s about 5 minutes since I last played the sound, and I can still “hear” it. Weird.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus:
Build your own EC2 infrastructure, sans Amazon.

EMA VFR Flying

EMA VFR Flying:
Notes on how to transit East Midlands’ airspace.

Free Image Galleries, Slideshows And Lightbox Solutions

Free Image Galleries, Slideshows And Lightbox Solutions

AVGAS UK Prices

AVGAS UK Prices:
Flyer magazine is collecting and collating AVGAS prices throughout the UK.

"A weak currency is the sign of a weak economy, which is the sign of a weak government"

“A weak currency is the sign of a weak economy, which is the sign of a weak government”

- Gordon Brown, 1992

Sunset over Cairo Airport.
